Maurizio Martusciello/martux_m


Ore 19.05 Intervista con Maurizio Martusciello/martux_m is a sound artist, composer, performer and producer. He works indifferently with sound and visual arts.
His professional activity starts in the ‘90s: he forms several international bands (Ossatura, Metaxu, Zelle, Dogon among others).
He publish numerous works as a sound artist with the most prestigious labels of sound art, among which the French label Metamkine: the CD Unsettled Line published by them in 2000 wins the International Preize of Electronic Music in San Paolo, Brasil 2001.
In 2003, the Mayor of Rome commissioned him several works to be performed in prestigious public spaces of the city: the work Exceptio, which is presented as a great sound installation and performance at the Terme di Diocleziano in Rome: a work about the old roman art and its encounter with the contemporaneity; the work Invisible Bodies together with Roberto Capucci: a sound/visual installation for the church of Santa Rita, Rome; and finally the sound/visual installation and performance Wavefront for the Fondazione Armellini.
In 2004 he is invited to the Venice Biennale with the project X-scape and to the Villette Numerique in Paris with the work Rumours of War.
He has received numerous invitations from several centres of sound investigation in France and has played in the most prestigious International theatres. He has composed numerous sound pieces for the Italian radio and television and for theatre and dance productions. Has been professor of Sound Design at the IED, European Institute of Design, Rome.
He is an habitual artist guest at the Roma Europa Foundation and at the new Auditorium of Rome. He collaborates with numerous international artists such as Marcus Stockhausen, Jon Hassel, Mimmo Paladino, Giorgio Battistelli and Danilo Rea among others.
